What a wonderful time we had thanks to Noel and Cath Hoy. Our accommodation was central in town and in walking distance to many cafes and restaurants.
Many had to drive in as the weather was atrocious and the Ballina airport all but inundated.
We bussed to Shelley Beach for brunch and we visited the eastern most point of mainland Australia at Cape Byron. A tad blustery on the day but a fabulous outlook all the same.
We tasted gin and walked through a rainforest at Brookies Ginery and we visited the historic and delightful township of Bangalow.
We dined at the Ballina Manor House which was home to a girls school in earlier years before being turned into apartments and more recently completely refurbished in keeping with the period and offering beautiful accommodation and serving delicious meals.
A trip to the Tweed River Gallery was a special treat where there is a of Margaret Ollies home and a display of her magnificent artworks all due to the generosity of Doug Anthony and his family.
As always we ate and drank enough for a week in three days and enjoyed catching up with fellow aviators.
Here are a couple of images. More to come later.
