YAYE and YBAS

Ayres Rock - Uluru
Ayres Rock – Uluru

Thank you for your patience!
I am delighted to post the registration form for our 2013 Spring  Fly In to Uluru, and Alice Springs.

I have been working with some delightful operators in the territory and I think we have come up with an exciting long weekend for all who join us. Kathy Graham, owner operator of  http://seitoutbackaustralia.com.au is putting together an interesting evening. We will drive out to view the magnificent sunset over the ‘rock’ and then travel on to a private location on the Aboriginal lands where we will enjoy a delicious BBQ followed by a circus display by some of the local college students. Next morning we’ll head out again for sunrise – yes an early one, but this will be well worth the effort. Our morning tour will include a breakfast in the bush and a tour of the area after which we will be delivered to the airport to fly into YBAS via Kings Canyon – I was unable to arrange transport into and out of the Canyon  – long story – so on this occasion we need to be content with a fly over which is spectacular anyway.

We are staying at Lasseters in their recently renovated rooms. Craig owner operator of  http://www.alicewanderer.com.au will be our guide for our YBAS stay. He will be picking us up from the airport and taking us for a lap of the town including a stop to see the recently upgraded RFDS centre and to grab a bite to eat at their cafe. Then we will have a look at several other Alice Icons not the least of which will be a trip up to Anzac Hill to view the town from above. Back to http://www.lasseters.com.au in time to check in and get to our AGM – the more the merrier please!
Dinner Friday night is coupled with the Sounds of Starlight show and promises to be a bit of fun.

Palm ValleySaturday and we’re heading off for the day on a 4WD tour to the spectacular Palm Valley. To give you a breather, dinner Saturday night will be at your whim.

Sunday we’re off  to the Desert Park in the morning and then we’ll spend the afternoon at both Road Transport and Connellan Aviation Museums. I am planning dinner at the Golf Club.

What is really important for you to do right now is to take a couple of minutes to download and print the Registration form and fill it in but even more important is that you ring the two accommodation providers – Desert Gardens and Lasseters – and make your bookings as the rooms can’t be held forever.

Now that the ground work is done I am getting excited about our Fly In and can’t wait to see as many of you as possible and to meet a few new faces too?
